how gorgeous is that featured image though. I made it myself😌✌

Hello & welcome back!💗✨ Today marks a year of evermore by Taylor Swift being released. The songs in that album are definitely not my style of music, but the it grew on me and is now one of my favourite albums by T.S.😄
I picked 13 songs to review for today, so not all from the album. Well, it was 14 songs at first, but I removed closure’s review so it would be 13.👀
Comment your favourite songs from evermore!
note: pictures from this post are taken from Instagram, and I don’t own them.
right where you left me
“i’m still at the restaurant, still sitting in a corner i haunt”
Being stuck in a moment, or a feeling while everyone else moves on and continues with their life, its a scary thought, really. This is definitely my favourite song on the album. The melodies in this one are so amazing.

no body, no crime
“i think he did it but i just can’t prove it”
this song is criminally underrated! I didn’t like it when I first listened to it. Then I decided to listen with the lyrics, and it all made so much sense. I love the plot of the song. Not the kind of songs I usually listen to but this>>>>😌
willow
“i come back stronger than a 90s trend”
Everyone’s probably heard this song, whether you listened to all of evermore or not. This has a different vibe from all the other songs, and I love this one! The music video is also great. I didn’t like how repetitive it got at the end though.
champagne problems
“i never was ready so i watched you go”
THE LYRICISM IN THIS SONG. absolutely genius. I didn’t think I was going to like this song when I first listened. I didn’t get what this song meant, but reading the comments on the lyric video of it helped. I love the melody and the harmonies in this one💗

marjorie
“and if i didn’t know better i’d think you were listening to me now”
This was Taylor’s tribute to her grandmother. It’s an incredibly sad song with amazing lyrics. I don’t listen to this a lot though. mainly because it’s a bit too slow for my liking.
cowboy like me
“you asked me to dance but i said, “dancing is a dangerous game”
I expected this one to have kind of a country vibe to it, and it did. It has a very peaceful feel. It’s not something I’d listen to on repeat, or often though but I still like it.
gold rush
“what must it be like to grow up that beautiful?”
This gives me “august” vibes, which is weird because gold rush sounds way different. I love that this one is kind of more upbeat, which makes it catchy as well. I used to listen to this a lot and it’s definitely one of my favorites.

dorothea
“you know, you’ll always know me”
This is on the top of my playlist! I think this song is a lot like Betty which is one of my absolute favourites from folklore. I love the melody, and the lyrics. I love this part “are you still the same soul i met under the bleachers? i guess I’ll never know”
long story short
“i tried to pick my battles ’til the battle picked me”
another one of the upbeat songs, this is really catchy. I love the lyrics of this one, and the bridge. this is definitely more of my style of music. And I like that this song has a happier feel to the others.
happiness
“but there was happiness because of me”
I feel like I might create conflict by saying this, but this is one of my least favourite ones on evermore. It’s too mellow, it’s a little too long for my liking and the melody is also kind of boring. The lyrics are again, amazing though.

the lakes
“those windermere peaks look like a perfect place to cry”
THE LYRICISM, again. so perfect. I literally had to look up the meaning for the words in this😂 the harmonies and the tune are so pretty. I didn’t listen to this one when it was released, only a few months ago and it’s so beautiful.. the beat also makes it catchy.
tolerate it
“i know my love should be celebrated but you tolerate it”
I didn’t think I was going to like this after hearing the beginning. The story this song tells is so.. hauntingly beautiful though. The featured lyric for this song basically sums it up.
evermore
“i rewind thе tape, but all it does is pause”
This was such a sweet way to finish off the album. I loved the exile duet with Bon Iver and this one is so…beautiful. I love their vocals in this, it does get a bit… chaotic at the end. but this was such an amazing song. It’s hopeful and sweet.

Favorites: Long story short, right where you left me, dorothea, the lakes, gold rush, willow.
Final thoughts: I loved the folklore era and I’m glad it didn’t just end with that, and continued with evermore. Taylor’s a lyrical genius and I absolutely treasure this album, and it remains as one of my top 3 fav T.S. albums.
I hope you enjoyed this review of evermore. If you haven’t listened to it, or to folklore. Do it! You won’t be disappointed.
This was a lot of fun to write, and I’ll hopefully do more album reviews soon. Thanks for reading!🦋

Evermore was a rollercoaster of emotions! Tissue box was beside me when I listened to it for the first time 😭🥺

ooh I agree with you on no body no crime. When I first heard I thought it was pretty average and nothing really stand out, but then when I actually went through the lyrics I fell in love with it !

Evermore is my favourite album of all time, it takes you on a roller coaster ride of heartbreak and nostalgia without actually experiencing it irl. Champagne problems please, is the biggest problem in my life. I keep listening to it on repeat, time just flies😭🥺😢
